How Much Caffeine is Too Much?

In general, it is considered safe to consume about 200 to 300 mg a day while trying to conceive. That’s equivalent to about two 8 oz cups of brewed coffee. So, if you’re a pot-a-day type of person, you’ll probably need to cut back.
What Has Caffeine in it?
In order to cut back on caffeine, it’s important to know what items are caffeinated, and how much caffeine they have. Keep in mind, for instance, that not all brewed coffee is created equal. While a cup you brew at home will probably only have about 100 mg of caffeine, a medium coffee at Starbucks will have closer to 200 mg.
Other beverages, like tea and soda, also contain caffeine but are much less caffeinated than coffee. A cup of tea has about 47 mg of caffeine in it, while a Coke has only about 29 mg. These can be a good alternative to coffee if you’re trying to limit your caffeine intake.
Also, if you like chocolate, stick to milk chocolate, rather than dark. While dark chocolate has almost as much caffeine as a soda, milk chocolate only has about 9 mg, which is a fairly negligible amount.
